Blackland Farm Outdoor Centre is an independent outdoor centre in the heart of Sussex, with more than 90 years of experience creating outstanding outdoor experiences for young people, families, schools, groups and the wider community.

Today, 4th Dimension Ltd operates Blackland Farm. We’re proud of its heritage, but we’re firmly focused on the future. Our aim is to build a vibrant, welcoming outdoor hub where people can learn, explore, challenge themselves and have fun.

Young people sit at the heart of what we do. We welcome schools, Guides and Scouts, youth groups, alternative provision and SEN settings. We offer opportunities through The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, outdoor education, residentials, day visits, school programmes and bespoke experiences. Whether it’s someone’s first adventure or their next big challenge, our activities help build confidence, resilience, communication and independence, while creating a genuine connection with the outdoors.

But Blackland Farm is about much more than residentials. We offer camping, public experiences, holiday activities, community events, corporate days, charity challenges, celebrations, outreach programmes and opportunities for people of all ages, both here in Sussex and further afield.

With more than 50 activities across our 127-acre site and beyond, there’s always something to discover. From climbing, abseiling and high ropes to watersports, bushcraft, mountaineering, archery and everything in between.

We want Blackland Farm to be a place people know, trust and feel welcome. A place where schools can learn, young people can grow, families can make memories, communities can come together and individuals can try something they never thought they could do.

More than 25,000 people visit us each year, and we’re proud to play a part in so many experiences and memories. Our ambition is simple: to create brilliant outdoor experiences that are accessible, affordable and memorable, while growing Blackland Farm into a thriving community hub for Sussex and beyond.
